To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to create a capitation grant program to increase the number of nurses and graduate educated nurse faculty to meet the future need for qualified nurses, and for other purposes.

I think this bill is a great way to increase the amount of nurses in the hospitals around the country. It is such a shame that so many deaths could be prevented if enough nurses are hierd to provide the adequate care needed for each patient. I support the way this bill encourages nurses addmissions in schools to promote an increase in graduated BSN students and promote these students to gain RN degrees and fill the open spots in hospitals.
It is ashame that while I was a student which got in on time to the nursing program there are so many students that are behind or don't get in at all because there are simply not enough spots open for nursing students. By coupling this bill with some of the other ones presented by other students in our class, we could definatly make an impact on decreasing the nursing shortage with promoting bills supporting the education of nursing students, increased number of faculty, undergrad and graduate reimbursements, and student loan forgiveness programs.
